Job summary

The City of Norfolk, VA is seeking a Utility Maintenance Mechanic III in the Wastewater OPS Pump Station division. You will perform mechanical repairs on equipment, install, diagnose, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance, including high voltage equipment.

Essential duties include major repairs at pump stations, preventive maintenance, and maintaining logs. The role requires five years of industrial maintenance or electrical experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Electrician.
• Knowledge equivalent to four years of high school level education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment by performing major repairs and preventive maintenance at Pump Stations, including pumps, valves and piping.
• Performs preventive maintenance on buildings and equipment.
• Oversees weekly, monthly and annual PMs at all City of Norfolk Pump Stations.
• Provides training and guidance to lower-level mechanics and maintenance workers.
• Completes maintenance logs and Lucity Work Orders.
