Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Senior Electrical Utility & Infrastructure Engineer to serve as the primary technical interface with external electrical utility providers across all company sites. You will ensure reliable, scalable power delivery for launch facilities, manufacturing, and test sites, driving reliability and redundancy across internal electrical infrastructure.

The role emphasizes planning, standards development, and collaboration with facilities, real estate, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering focusing on utility power systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience interfacing with electrical utility providers on technical and contractual matters.
• Proficiency with medium and high voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of power system analysis, load flow studies, and reliability concepts.
• Experience with backup power systems including generators, UPS, and ATS.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NERC codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical liaison with electrical utility providers across sites.
• Forecast short- and long-term electrical power demands and lead feasibility studies.
• Develop load growth projections and coordinate infrastructure upgrades with utilities.
• Lead RCA investigations and drive corrective actions for power incidents.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NERC and local tariffs.
• Support emergency response planning related to utility outages.
