Job summary

BCES Global is seeking a Senior Electrical Testing Technician III to lead testing, commissioning, and reliability projects within our Power Services Division. You will mentor junior technicians and coordinate with customers, engineers, and field teams to deliver safe, reliable power systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical testing, NEC/NFPA safety adherence, and proficiency with high-voltage test equipment. Travel across the Mid-Atlantic is expected as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems field experience.
  • Ability to independently lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and reliability projects.
  • Experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage distribution equipment.
  • Proficient in reading one-line diagrams and technical documentation; strong safety practices.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform and lead acceptance testing, maintenance testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead field crews on low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems.
  • Test and evaluate switchgear, transformers, breakers, protective relays and related equipment.
  • Direct primary and secondary injection, relay, transformer, and breaker testing.
  • Evaluate results, troubleshoot issues, and make technical recommendations.
  • Review drawings and project documentation prior to field execution.
  • Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and deficiency logs for customers.
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, and field personnel while upholding safety standards.
  • Mentor junior technicians and help grow the technical team.

Bopat Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Testing Technician III to join our growing Power Services Division. If you're an experienced electrical testing professional who can independently lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical reliability projects while mentoring junior technicians, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Independently perform and lead acceptance testing, maintenance testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical reliability projects.

  • Lead field crews performing work on low-, medium-, and, where qualified, high-voltage electrical power systems.

  • Test and evaluate switchgear, switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, cables, grounding systems, automatic transfer switches, generators, motor control equipment, and related electrical apparatus.

  • Perform and direct primary and secondary injection testing, relay testing, transformer testing, breaker testing, and commissioning activities.

  • Evaluate test results, identify deficiencies, troubleshoot electrical and control system issues, and make technical recommendations.

  • Review drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and project documentation prior to field execution.

  • Prepare complete technical reports, test documentation, deficiency logs, and customer deliverables.

  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, project managers, and field personnel while maintaining the highest safety standards.

  • Mentor and develop junior testing technicians while helping build a strong technical team.


WHAT YOU BRING


  • NETA Level III, NICET Electrical Power Testing Level III, or equivalent electrical power systems testing experience.

  • Five or more years of electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems field experience.

  • Proven ability to independently perform and lead electrical testing and commissioning projects.

  • Experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical distribution equipment.

  • Experience performing protective relay testing, primary and secondary injection testing, transformer testing, and breaker testing.

  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and safe switching practices.

  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as Omicron, Doble, Megger, Vanguard, Manta, ETI, Phenix, High Voltage Inc., or similar platforms is preferred.

  • Strong leadership, customer communication, and technical documentation skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including overnight travel.

Compensation ranges may vary based on individual experience. Final offers may differ from the posted range depending on a candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and the specific role offered.
