Job summary

BCES Global in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Testing & Commissioning Supervisor to lead our field-testing operations across Arizona. You will be hands-on, in the field, directing testing crews, interpreting equipment data, and ensuring work is performed safely and to quality standards.

You will coach technicians, review procedures, and maintain alignment with NETA ATS-2025 and NFPA 70E requirements while delivering reliable power-system testing services for industrial and commercial customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical testing experience, with strong experience in de-energized maintenance testing.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and manufacturer test data.
• Experience preparing or reviewing technical procedures and test documentation, including MOPs, test sheets, and FSRs.

Responsibilities

• Lead de-energized maintenance and acceptance testing projects from job walk through completion.
• Serve as the technical leader and on-site decision-maker for testing crews.
• Coordinate daily work across Phoenix and Tucson-area technicians.
• Conduct job walks and help develop accurate project scopes.
• Troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment, configurations, and field conditions.
• Serve as an escalation point for technicians when complex issues arise.
• Review Method of Procedures (MOPs) and test results for client delivery.

WHAT WE NEED

Sabino Electric is looking for a Testing & Commissioning Supervisor to lead our growing field-testing operations across Arizona.

This is a hands‑on leadership role fo r an experienced electrical testing professional who knows how to walk onto an unfamiliar job site, understand the equipment and system, make sound technical decisions, and get the work done safely and correctly.

You won't be managing from a desk. You'll be in the field, on the tools, leading jobs, solving problems, mentoring technicians, and setting the technical standard for our testing operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead Field Testing Operations

• Lead de‑energized maintenance and acceptance testing projects from job walk through completion.
• Serve as the technical leader and on‑site decision‑maker for testing crews.
• Coordinate daily work across Phoenix and Tucson‑area technicians.
• Conduct job walks and help develop accurate project scopes.
• Troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment, configurations, and field conditions.
• Serve as an escalation point for technicians when complex issues arise.

Set the Technical Standard

• Act as a technical resource for testing switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, panelboards, and battery systems.
• Review Method of Procedures (MOPs), test sheets, and other technical documentation.
• Review test results for accuracy and completeness before client delivery.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with NETA ATS-2025 and NFPA 70E requirements.
• Stay current with testing methods, equipment capabilities, and industry standards and bring that knowledge back to the team.
• Train and mentor technicians on testing procedures, safety, and documentation.
• Work alongside less experienced technicians to develop their technical skills and judgment.
• Identify training and development opportunities across the testing team.
• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and quality.

Safety & Quality

• Lead by example in LOTO, PPE, and job‑site safety.
• Conduct safety briefings and reinforce a safety‑first culture.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure testing work meets Sabino's quality standards before reaching the client.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years of electrical testing experience, with strong experience in de‑energized maintenance testing.
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • Switchgear
  • Circuit breakers
  • Transformers
  • Protective relays
  • Industrial and commercial power distribution systems
• Ability to read and interpret one‑line diagrams, panel schedules, and manufacturer test data.
• Experience preparing or reviewing technical procedures and test documentation, including MOPs, test sheets, and FSRs.
• Ability to independently assess unfamiliar equipment and field conditions.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• A valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Arizona as required.

Additionalassets include:

• NETA Level II or NICET III or higher.
• Substation testing experience.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience.
• Familiarity with Sage accounting/job costing systems.
