Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing, LLC seeks an experienced technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution operations.

The role ensures reliability and safety by diagnosing and coordinating repairs, with travel up to 25%–50% domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of electrical experience or an relevant degree with experience, and familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NETA/NEC/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant electrical experience OR associate’s degree and 4+ years of relevant electrical experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of relevant electrical experience
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization
• NETA/NICET certification preferred
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%–50% of the time
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering
• Analyzes test results and interprets electrical diagrams to locate defective equipment
• Proficiently uses meters and test equipment in energized electrical rooms, vaults, and substations
• Conducts protective relay testing, calibration, and programming for various manufacturers
• Troubleshoots and repairs components; performs acceptance and maintenance testing
• Coordinates testing and repairs with other department personnel
• Maintains detailed test reports and documentation for compliance and client review
• Collaborates with engineers, project managers, and clients for efficient commissioning and startup
• Provides mentorship to junior technicians
