Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing, LLC is seeking an experienced technician responsible for installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution operations.

You will diagnose, test, and repair equipment, interpret schematics, and coordinate with other teams to ensure reliable electrical systems. Qualifications include 4+ years of electrical experience or equivalent education, ability to travel, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–50% of the time
• Strong MS Excel, Word, Power DB, and Smartsheet experience is a plus
• 4+ years of relevant electrical experience or related education leading to 1–4 years experience
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering; performs electrical tests and repairs
• Analyzes test results and interprets electrical diagrams to locate defective equipment
• Uses hand and power tools, meters, and test equipment in energized electrical rooms and substations
• Interprets schematics, wiring diagrams and substation drawings; inspects and tests equipment
• Performs testing and maintenance of relays and associated equipment such as generators and meters
• Coordinates testing and repairs with other department personnel
• Ensures adherence to safety standards including LOTO and PPE requirements
• Maintains detailed test reports and documentation for client review and compliance
