Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to support regional and national projects. You will perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems and equipment up to 500kV, while mentoring junior technicians and leading multi-discipline teams.

This role requires a current NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of hands-on HV testing experience, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• NETA Level III or Level IV Certification (current and in good standing).
• Proficiency with test equipment mentioned (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
