Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer – Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to lead testing on high-voltage systems and mentor junior technicians. The role involves acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing, with travel up to 75% to regional and national projects.

You will utilize advanced test equipment and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards while contributing to safety and reliability for critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
