Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing seeks a Senior Electrical Test Technician 3 to lead testing programs and coordinate operations on large-scale facilities. The role includes supervising testing activities, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards.

You will work with SCADA, Life Safety, and power systems, performing advanced tests and reporting results to clients and engineers. Travel to customer sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED
• Possess a valid/active U.S. Work Authorization
• NETA / NICET certification (preferred) or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear
• Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters
• Knowledge of medium and high‑voltage systems (up to 500kV) and arc flash analysis
• Willingness to travel and work in industrial, data center, and utility environments
• Follow safety protocols and maintain detailed test reports

Responsibilities

• Develop Electrical Testing Program for duty site and serve as SME
• Manage or train staff to operate and update system control apps
• Assist development of SOPs and training for operators
• Coordinate with CMMS for scheduling and reporting maintenance
• Oversee building control systems including SCADA and Life Safety
• Collaborate with Program Manager to optimize monitoring performance
• Provide troubleshooting and safety oversight during testing
• Assist in developing electrical work and project schedules
• Generate safety reports and maintain safety records
• Perform relay, transformer, and circuit breaker testing and root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with NETA standards and safety protocols
• Mentor junior technicians as needed
• Support system commissioning and startup
