Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing is seeking a Senior Electrical Test Technician 3 to lead independent and team-based electrical testing projects. You will develop testing programs, supervise field staff, and ensure SCADA and life-safety systems perform reliably.

The role requires strong knowledge of high- and medium-voltage systems, arc flash analysis, and hands-on device testing with Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters. Travel to industrial facilities and data centers is expected.

Qualifications

  • Must have 7+ years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
  • Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters.
  • Knowledge of medium and high-voltage systems (up to 500kV), including arc flash hazard analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose system failures.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work in industrial, data center, and utility environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Electrical Testing Program for duty site and act as SME for divisions O&M program.
  • Manage or train operations staff to operate and update system controls for efficiency.
  • Assist development of SOPs and training for operators to monitor complex systems.
  • Coordinate CMMS-based scheduling, dispatch, tracking, and reporting of field maintenance.
  • Oversee integration, reliability, and functionality of building control systems (SCADA, Life Safety).
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to optimize monitoring systems and energy goals.
  • Provide oversight, troubleshooting, and guidance during electrical testing activities.
  • Assist in developing electrical work and project schedules; implement safety procedures.
