Job summary

Sargent & Lundy invites an experienced Project Manager to join its Consulting group in Chicago. You will lead and execute work across development, financing, and execution of power generation projects, coordinating with developers, utilities, investors, and lenders.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with 15+ years in the power industry, and proven ability to manage engineering teams, conduct feasibility studies, and work across multiple technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering with 15+ years in the power industry.
• Experience leading engineering teams and managing complex power projects.
• Experience across solar, battery storage, wind, and thermal technologies.
• Experience with feasibility studies and long-term power planning.
• Experience in project finance or financial modeling and contracts (PPA, asset transfer, EPC).
• Prior consulting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop consulting project execution plans to meet client needs.
• Review deliverables and lead project teams with clear technical guidance.
• Manage hours, budget, and scope; mentor staff and develop expertise.
• Prepare proposals and pursue consulting opportunities; support multiple projects.
• Travel to project locations and client offices as needed.
