Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer in Bismarck, ND. The role involves leading projects from planning through construction, supervising designers and technicians, and serving as project engineer in the field as needed.

Requires PE registration (ND/MN preferred) or ability to obtain within 6 months, and 5–10 years of experience in electrical design for commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE Registration preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 5–10 years of experience as an electrical project engineer.
• Experience with electrical systems in commercial, health care, and educational facilities.
• Experience with Civil electrical and water/wastewater electrical engineering is a plus.
• Experience with process instrumentation and control engineering is a plus.
• Experience with industrial clients is a plus.
• Must have advanced knowledge of electrical engineering design and be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional electrical engineering services for clients by providing: planning, design, specifications, plans, reports, construction observation, and project management.
• Delegate and supervise project tasks to CADD/BIM Technicians, Graduate Engineers, and Field Technicians on the project team.
• Communicate frequently and effectively with other team members on a consistent basis by providing updates and progress during all phases of projects.
• Attend company meetings, project meetings, and client meetings on a regular basis.
• Effective communication skills with the public will be required in settings such as public involvement meetings, informational meetings, construction notifications, etc.
• Understand and follow company CADD/BIM procedures and client CADD/BIM procedures when required.
• Understand and follow company employee handbook and mandated safety policies.
• Perform responsibilities in a conscientious, legal and ethical manner with a strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel and out-of-town stays may be required.
