Job summary

Apex Engineering Group is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer in Fargo, ND to lead design and project execution from planning through construction.

The role includes independent contribution and field representation as needed, with opportunities to mentor team members and coordinate with clients. Applicants should have a PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months, 10+ years in electrical projects across commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer Registration (ND or MN preferred) required or able to obtain within 6 months.
• 10+ years of experience as an electrical project engineer preferred.
• Experience with electrical systems in commercial, health care, and educational facilities.
• Experience with civil electrical and water/wastewater electrical engineering is a plus.
• Experience with process instrumentation and control engineering is a plus.
• Experience with industrial clients is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering design; familiar with codes and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience as a project lead on complex, multi-discipline engineering design projects.
• Proficient in MS Windows/Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2017 or newer; Revit experience a plus.
• A valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional electrical engineering services for internal project managers and external clients across planning, design, specifications, plans, reports, construction observation, and project management.
• Communicate updates and progress with project managers through planning and design phases (30%, 60%, 90%, 100%).
• Attend company, project, and client meetings as directed by supervision.
• Handle difficult or confrontational situations with clients/contractors as directed.
• Delegate and supervise tasks to CAD/BIM Technicians, Graduate Engineers, and Field Technicians.
• Follow company CADD/BIM procedures and client procedures when required.
• Adhere to employee handbook and safety policies.
• Work independently and in a team environment; participate in professional organizations and community leadership.
• Travel and out-of-town stays may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
