Job summary

Apex Engineering Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and contribute across planning, design and construction on diverse Fargo, ND projects. You will supervise CAD/BIM staff, coordinate with project managers and clients, and ensure code compliance and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 10+ years in electrical systems for commercial, healthcare or educational facilities, and strong communication skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer Registration (ND or MN preferred) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 10+ years of experience as an electrical project engineer preferred.
• Experience with electrical systems in commercial, health care, and educational facilities.
• Experience with civil electrical and water/wastewater electrical engineering is a plus.
• Experience with process instrumentation and control engineering is a plus.
• Experience with industrial clients is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering design; familiar with codes, standards, and industry practices; strong written and verbal communication.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience as a project lead on complex, multi-disciplinary engineering design projects.
• Proficient in Windows/Office; AutoCAD 2017+; Revit a plus; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional electrical engineering services for internal project managers and external clients, including planning, design, specifications, plans, reports, construction observation and project management.
• Communicate updates to project managers through all design phases (planning, 30%, 60%, 90%, 100%).
• Attend company, project, and client meetings as directed by supervisor.
• Handle difficult or confrontational situations with clients/contractors as directed.
• Delegate and supervise CAD/BIM Technicians, Graduate Engineers, and Field Technicians.
• Follow company CADD/BIM procedures and client CADD/BIM procedures as required.
• Follow employee handbook and safety policies.
• Work independently and in a team.
• Travel and out-of-town stays may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
