Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced power systems engineer in the Chicago area to join the Electrical Analytical Division. You will perform advanced electrical analyses for substation, transmission, and renewable energy projects, including relay settings, arc flash, and transient studies, with occasional travel to client sites.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience and demonstrates strong proficiency in ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and EMTP-RV,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
10+ years of experience performing electrical analysis.
Experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, EMTP-RV).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Perform relay setting calculations for power systems.
Conduct power system calculations and arc flash analyses.
Analyze cable ampacity and transient responses.
Carry out harmonic, grounding, and renewable energy calculations.
Travel to client offices/sites for on-site consulting.
