Job summary

General Mills, Minneapolis, is seeking an Electrical Power Distribution Engineer to lead senior technical work on capital projects. You’ll drive design, safety, and reliability of electrical systems from scope through startup, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

You’ll apply deep knowledge of high/medium/low voltage distribution, select equipment, and ensure standards compliance, while guiding teams across North America manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering with relevant experience in electrical systems.
• Experience leading technical execution for complex capital projects from concept through startup.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution.
• Ability to travel 50% to 75% based on project phase.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for electrical power distribution specs, standards, and design requirements.
• Lead development of distribution standards and engineering best practices for safety and maintainability.
• Oversee design review, procurement support, installation, and startup across sites and initiatives.
• Coordinate with project managers to define scope, risks, and execution strategies.
• Support contractor and vendor coordination, submittals, FAT/SAT planning, field issue resolution.
