Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking an Electrical Power Design Engineer in Long Beach, CA to lead development of load studies, construction packages, and power specifications for projects requiring PE stamping and plan checks.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical power design, NEC and IEEE standards familiarity, and proficiency with AutoCAD and power system tools. Occasional travel and a strong client-facing communication style are expected.

Qualifications

• Lead development of electrical power load studies.
• Lead development of electrical power construction packages stamped by a Professional Engineer for plan check.
• Lead development of electrical power specifications for construction packages.
• Lead development of electrical power bills of materials and coordinate with vendors for pricing.
• Field verification walkdowns of Electrical and E&I infrastructure.
• Factory acceptance testing on electrical power equipment.
• Start-up and commissioning including E&I troubleshooting.
• Provide after hours support for clients.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure deliverables and budget.
• Travel ±25% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical power load studies.
• Lead the development of comprehensive electrical power construction packages sufficient to be stamped by a PE and submitted for authority plan check.
• Lead the development of comprehensive electrical power specifications for construction packages.
• Lead the development of electrical power bills of materials and coordinate with vendors for pricing.
• Execute field verification walkdowns of E&I infrastructure.
• Execute factory acceptance testing on electrical power equipment.
• Execute start-up and commissioning, including E&I troubleshooting.
• Provide after hours support for internal/external clients as occurs.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure overall quality of deliverables and budget.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and proposals with technical guidance.
