Job summary

Stafford, TX-based electrical power design firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Design Engineer to drive load studies, prepare stamped construction packages, and deliver power system specifications from design through commissioning. The role emphasizes close collaboration with project teams, vendor coordination, and proactive client support.

Candidates should have 5+ years in electrical design with NEC/IEEE knowledge, AutoCAD proficiency, and a PE-eligible background (FE exam completed).

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in electrical construction and specification packages for PE stamping.
• Knowledge of NEC and IEEE 3000 Series requirements.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and FE Exam completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of electrical power load studies.
• Create stamped construction packages and specs for PE review.
• Develop comprehensive electrical power specifications for construction packages.
• Prepare bills of material and coordinate with vendors for pricing.
• Perform field verifications and as-built documentation of E&I infrastructure.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing on power equipment.
• Lead start-up and commissioning activities, including E&I troubleshooting.
• Provide after-hours client support as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on deliverables, quality, and budgets.
• Assist in cost estimation and proposals for new projects, including labor and procurement items.
• Travel ~25% (air travel likely).
