Job summary

KLA Industries in Long Beach, CA is seeking an Electrical Power Design Engineer to lead development of power load studies, construction packages and power specifications for NEC-compliant projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, FE progress, 5+ years of design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and power system tools (ETAP/SKM/EasyPower), and strong communication; willing to travel ~25% as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience developing electrical construction and specification packages suitable to be stamped by a Professional Engineer.
• Experience in load studies, SLDs, plot plans, lighting, grounding, and conduit/cable schedules.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE 3000 Series, and API 500 preferred; proficient in AutoCAD and Excel.
• Experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower and relay settings (GE Multilin/SEL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical power load studies.
• Lead the development of comprehensive electrical power construction packages stamped by a Professional Engineer.
• Lead the development of electrical power specifications and BOMs; coordinate with vendors for pricing.
• Perform field verification and as-building of Electrical and I&C infrastructure; assist commissioning.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
