Job summary

Nexamp is seeking a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to drive reliability and performance across Nexamp's solar PV and BESS assets, currently over 2 GW under management. You will apply advanced electrical engineering analysis, perform root-cause investigations, and optimize control schemes in collaboration with Operations, Asset Management, and OEMs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
2+ years in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, power logic controllers).
Professional Engineer license is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy across devices and controllers; coordinate setting changes with vendors; obtain utility approvals.
Engage with utilities on grid-interaction issues; diagnose misalignment and negotiate solutions for interconnection.
Improve system reliability by evaluating protection schemes, relay timing, configurations, and inverter control functions.
Collaborate with Engineering to improve design standards, fleet consistency, and protection philosophies.
Lead data-driven reliability efforts by analyzing logs, events, and dispatch data; perform root-cause investigations.
Own fleetwide monitoring and diagnostics strategy to reduce false positives and speed incident response.
