Job summary

Nexamp is hiring a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to enhance reliability and performance of its solar PV and BESS assets, currently over 2 GW under management. The role involves advanced electrical analysis, root-cause investigations, and collaboration with Operations, Asset Management, Controls, and OEMs.

The position is a hybrid role based in multiple offices (Lawrence, Boston, NYC, Chicago, or Washington, DC) reporting to the Director, Performance Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, power logic controllers, etc.).
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy by reviewing settings and securing utility approvals.
• Engage with utilities on grid-interaction issues related to protection schemes and plant control behavior.
• Improve system reliability by evaluating protection schemes, relay timing, and inverter control functions.
• Partner with Engineering to improve design standards and fleet consistency.
• Lead data-driven reliability and loss reduction efforts with root-cause investigations and quantified impacts.
• Own fleetwide Monitoring and diagnostics strategy to reduce false positives and accelerate incident response.
• Develop analytical models and performance standards integrating power systems engineering with data analytics.
• Influence cross-functional decisions and mentor junior analysts.
