Job summary

Nexamp in the United States is seeking a Senior Electrical Performance Engineer to improve reliability and performance of a portfolio exceeding 2 GW of solar PV and BESS assets. You will analyze field data, optimize protection schemes, and drive corrective actions across the fleet while collaborating with Operations, Asset Management, Controls, and OEMs.

The role is hybrid, based in our Lawrence, Boston, New York City, Chicago, or Washington, DC offices, reporting to the Director, Performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience in solar and protection relays (breakers, reclosers, power logic controllers).
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate information, ideas, and perspectives with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ownership mentality with accountability and initiative to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Own plant protection, controls, and compliance strategy across OCPDs, relays, inverters, and plant controllers.
• Engage with utilities on grid-interaction issues and interconnection compliance.
• Improve system reliability by evaluating protection schemes, relay timing, and inverter control functions.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve design standards and fleet consistency.
• Lead data-driven reliability and loss reduction efforts using field data and 8D investigations.
• Own fleetwide monitoring and diagnostics strategy to reduce false positives and incident response time.
• Develop analytical models and performance standards for Nexamp's PV and BESS fleet.
• Influence cross-functional decisions and mentor junior analysts.
