Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Instrumentation Engineer for a hybrid role in South Africa. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced instrumentation and control systems across industrial facilities, ensuring accuracy, reliability and safety of measurement loops.

The position emphasizes collaboration with project teams and ongoing technical mentoring. The role requires 7+ years in the field, proficiency with DCS/PLC platforms, and strong process control knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical instrumentation and control systems engineering.
• Proven experience with DCS and PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell).
• Strong understanding of process control principles, loop tuning, and advanced control strategies.
• Familiarity with field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement.
• Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and intrinsic safety principles.
• Experience with CAD software for P&ID and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes.
• Develop P&IDs and control logic diagrams.
• Configure and program DCS and PLC systems.
• Develop calibration, testing, and commissioning plans.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical equipment issues.
• Ensure compliance with ISA and IEC safety standards.
• Collaborate with project engineers and maintenance teams.
