Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer Infrastructure Lead in Roy, UT, to lead electrical design efforts for MILCON and aerospace infrastructure within the Sentinel program.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, 12+ years of progressive experience, and strong skills in power systems, NEC/NESC/IBC, and relay coordination. Occasional travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance required at time of application, with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• At least 4 years of experience leading electrical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
• Experience with electrical and power systems design, cable design and qualification processes, controls systems, and engine/generator sets.
• Experience in power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and relay coordination.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IBC, and Unified Facilities Criteria.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Technical Excellence: Review INF work products via peer reviews and design reviews to ensure adherence to baseline requirements and processes.
• Balance quality with rapid procurement, fabrication, and testing of assets and prototypes.
• Present information to Program Management to aid decisions on technical options and risks.
• Cross-Element Coordination: Identify INF impacts from external changes and coordinate joint solutions across teams.
• Communicate direction from INF leadership to technical teams and ensure understanding and adherence.
• Negotiate priorities across internal and external stakeholders for the Sentinel program.
• Establish strong relationships with internal organizations, customers, subcontractors, and partners.
• Provide regular briefings and reports to executive leadership.
