Job summary

Siemens AG in the United States is seeking an Electrical Service Specialist to perform startup, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medium and low voltage power systems across the East region.

The role requires 8+ years of electrical experience, the ability to interpret protective coordination studies, and the aptitude to train customer personnel. You must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and hold a valid driver’s license for field assignments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years troubleshooting electrical control circuits and ability to obtain thermography certification
• 8+ years electrical testing experience: primary current injection, resistance, dielectric, thermal scans
• 8+ years using electrical test sets for AC/DC high potential testing, transformer turns ratio, power factor tests
• Interpreting protective coordination studies and testing, configuring protective relays
• Reading bills of material, electrical blueprints, and power system study reports
• Installation, commissioning and maintenance of low and medium voltage power distribution systems
• Aware of arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV and Siemens gear (GIS, AIS, WL, RL, SB)
• Willing to carry and move equipment up to 75 pounds; valid driver's license; US work authorization

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and checkout of electric and electronic components for service jobs and service agreements
• Install wiring and perform emergency troubleshooting of power distribution products and third-party equipment
• Perform onsite site surveys to develop base or installation design plans
• Provide instructions and training to customer personnel and support staff
• Plan labor, rates, material costs, and transportation expenses for complex proposals
• Must be available for emergency and relief assignments
