Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Sterling, VA is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead bid development and cost estimates for electrical construction projects. You will collaborate with estimators, suppliers, and customers to prepare detailed estimates and ensure compliant documentation.

The role requires strong blueprint reading, advanced estimating skills, and mentoring of junior staff. Travel up to 10% and a competitive benefits package are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ estimating experience in construction.
• Experience with Accubid, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam preferred.
• CAD or 3D software experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off on project and complete estimate to computer printout.
• Identify parts of project that may be key to making a competitive estimate.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work.
• Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.
• Provide leadership to personnel preparing discipline sub estimates for assigned bids.
• Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.
