Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead bid and cost estimates for electrical construction projects in Sterling, VA. This role manages take-offs, coordinates with estimators, suppliers, and clients, and ensures accurate, timely bid packages.

You will review specs, drawings, perform value engineering, develop labor costs, and prepare detailed material lists while maintaining documentation and utilizing estimating software.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings.
• Performs arithmetic and unit cost calculations for estimates.
• Produces detailed project estimates and coordinates groups.
• Mentors junior estimators and supports team development.
• Uses estimating software and CAD/3D tools as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates from quantity take-offs and complete bid packages.
• Review specifications and drawings; participate in pre-bid meetings.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to reduce costs.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs.
• Solicit quotes from suppliers/subcontractors and ensure conformance with plans.
