Southland Industries seeks an experienced Estimator to prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual and detailed estimates for medium to large projects. You will analyze drawings, perform material take-offs, and price units, while coordinating with the Lead/Chief Estimator to finalize FEBs and present bids to executives.

The role requires strong Excel/Word skills, excellent communication, and a solid grasp of construction costs. You will mentor junior estimators and share best practices with the team.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant estimating experience, including personnel management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret cost data.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings.
• Knowledge of construction costs and principles.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and prorations.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze drawings and perform material take-offs using software for detailed estimates.
• Prepare preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates and detailed estimates for medium to large projects.
• Collaborate with Lead/Chief Estimator to finalize FEB and present bids to executives.
• Generate reports and transfer data into final review formats for FEB.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss projects and provide technical input.
• Mentor and train less-experienced estimators.
• Stay current with best practices and share knowledge with the team.
