Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the electrical architecture of complex vacuum process equipment, from concept through manufacturing release.

You will translate customer and regulatory requirements into robust electrical specifications and designs that scale from prototype to high-volume production. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams to ensure seamless integration, testing, and

Qualifications

• Strong background in analog and digital circuit design with hands-on testing and release experience.
• Ability to debug electrical issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and component-level analysis.
• Experience integrating power supplies, motion controllers, PLCs, and electrical interfaces into larger platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical architecture and detailed design of complex vacuum process equipment from concept through manufacturing release.
• Convert customer, product, and regulatory requirements into clear electrical specifications that balance performance, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design and release electrical schematics, assemblies, layouts, and documentation integrating power supplies, motion systems, robotics, sensors, and control hardware.
• Resolve advanced electrical and system-level issues through structured root-cause analysis across development, manufacturing, and fielded systems.
• Set technical direction during design reviews and mentor junior engineers, raising overall design quality and consistency.
• Partner with Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Service teams to ensure seamless system integration, build, and installation.
• Plan and execute electrical tests and design-of-experiments, translating data into actionable engineering recommendations.
