KFI Engineers, headquartered in St. Paul, MN, seeks an Electrical Engineer III for Utilities & Central Energy in Lexington, KY. You will lead electrical design for central energy projects, oversee studies, and support business development.

A strong background in power systems and NEC/IEEE standards is essential, with travel up to 25%. The role emphasizes client satisfaction, cross-team collaboration, and delivering high-quality design documents from concept to startup.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of Electrical Engineering experience post-graduation.
• Professional Engineering registration or willingness to pursue this designation.
• Strong electrical design expertise across various industries and processes.
• Experience with electrical utility generation and distribution systems.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE codes and standards.

Responsabilidades

• Assist design of power distribution systems (primary), motor feeders, and motor starters/drives.
• Design medium-voltage and 480-volt power systems, including generation and distribution.
• Design special systems: ground fault protection, lightning protection, engine-generator, UPS, DC, MCCs, PFC.
• Perform power system studies: arc fault, short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, harmonics (SKM PTW).
• Prepare engineering docs and specs to meet codes and scope; deliver single-line diagrams, 3-line drawings, plans, schedules.
• Review/approve contractor and vendor submittals; develop labor and cost estimates.
• Create project plans and schedules; coordinate with departments and contractors.
• Provide field support, startup, commissioning for electrical systems; may act as project manager.
