Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Northeast Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering Team in New York, NY. You will contribute to design deliverables for high-profile capital projects from concept through construction, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
3–5 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design deliverables for capital projects in building facilities and/or transportation.
Exposure to electrical engineering principles, design/build, permitting, and project work.
Experience with electrical infrastructure planning, design, and construction management on rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

Work within multi-disciplinary project teams to develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
Assist preparing electrical design for transportation facilities (stations, tunnels, roadways, ventilation, power interfaces).
Coordinate electrical systems design (power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, low-voltage systems).
Coordinate design activities with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other disciplines.
Plan equipment sizing, cabling, and conduit design for safety and functionality.
Perform Construction Phase Services (RFI reviews, shop drawings, field visits).
Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops.
