Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Northeast Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering Team in New York, NY. You will contribute to design deliverables for high-profile capital projects from concept through construction, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design deliverables for capital projects in building facilities and/or transportation.
• Exposure to electrical engineering principles, design/build, permitting, and project work.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure planning, design, and construction management on rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Work within multi-disciplinary project teams to develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
• Assist preparing electrical design for transportation facilities (stations, tunnels, roadways, ventilation, power interfaces).
• Coordinate electrical systems design (power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, low-voltage systems).
• Coordinate design activities with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other disciplines.
• Plan equipment sizing, cabling, and conduit design for safety and functionality.
• Perform Construction Phase Services (RFI reviews, shop drawings, field visits).
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops.
