Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Professional, Electrical Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC, working on WMATA offices. You will guide high-level electrical engineering design across multiple phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

The role requires a PE license, a strong background in power generation/transmission, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and PE license.
• Experience with capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure design, codes, and safety requirements.
• Excellent technical writing and cross-disciplinary coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and review of electrical infrastructure for complex projects.
• Develop and refine single-line and three-phase diagrams, grounding, and protection schemes.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, NERC, ANSI, and related standards.
• Coordinate multi-discipline teams and manage procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
