Job summary

Longshot Space Technologies in Alameda, CA is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to own the electrical engineering discipline across programs. You will lead architecture, hardware design, and the team, delivering CCAs, FPGA and microcontroller designs, and test procedures for high‑voltage pulsed ignition and avionics.

This hands‑on leadership role requires coordinating with mechanical, software and facilities teams, driving safety, design reviews, and supplier oversight while remaining on‑site

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or higher with relevant experience.
• Experience with analog, digital and power circuits in HV/pulsed systems.
• Strong leadership with budget and schedule management.
• Hands-on experience designing schematics, CCAs, and FPGA/microcontrollers.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical architecture for gun systems and test vehicles.
• Derive engineering requirements and interface definitions.
• Guide FPGA/microcontroller and embedded electronics for control/test systems.
• Plan and oversee CCAs, harnesses, and test procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and hire electrical engineers and technicians.
• Develop test plans and qualification tests for electrical hardware.
