Protingent Staffing seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer, Avionics, to own the electrical architecture for gun systems and test vehicles. You will design HV pulsed-power ignition, instrumentation, interlocks, power distribution, and grounding, guiding FPGA and embedded electronics for control and test systems.

You will lead, mentor and hire engineers, drive safety analyses, and coordinate with mechanical, software and testing teams to deliver qualified hardware for government-funded programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of related work experience or MS with 4+ years or PhD with 3+ years.
• Strong background in design/analysis of analog, digital and power circuits, pulsed power/high-voltage systems, ignition or initiation systems.
• Experience across full design cycle from requirements through schematic, layout review, harness, build, test and field support.
• Proven ability as a team leader to deliver project results and manage performance, budgets and schedules.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Git, Jira) and disciplined documentation practices.

Responsabilités

• Own the electrical architecture for gun systems and test vehicles, including HV pulsed-power ignition, control and sequencing, instrumentation, interlocks and grounding.
• Define requirements and interface definitions for electrical assemblies; control interfaces with mechanical, software, test and facilities teams.
• Lead design of FPGAs, microcontrollers and embedded electronics for control and test systems.
• Plan harness implementations (CCA, chassis, rack) and oversee build/delivery to users and stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor and hire electrical engineers and technicians; set design standards and documentation expectations.
• Develop test plans and verification for qualification and acceptance testing of electrical hardware.
