Longshot Space Technologies Corporation seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to own electrical architecture and lead the electronic design across programs. You will shape HV pulsed ignition, control sequencing, instrumentation, safety interlocks, and avionics, while delivering CCAs, FPGA and embedded electronics, harnesses and test procedures.

This is a hands-on leadership role with on-site work in Alameda, CA.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of related work experience, MS with 4+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Strong background in analog, digital and power circuits, pulsed power/high-voltage systems, ignition or initiation systems, test-stand control and instrumentation, or flight avionics and power.
• Experience across the full design cycle from requirements through schematic, layout review, harness, build, test and field support.
• Knowledge of high-energy safety practices: energy storage hazards, interlocks, grounding and EMI in high-current environments.
• Proven ability as a team leader to deliver results, manage performance standards, budgets and schedules.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Jira).
• Ability to write clearly for review boards and communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Own the electrical architecture for gun systems and test vehicles, including HV pulsed power and control.
• Derive and document requirements, specifications and interface drawings for electrical assemblies.
• Define interfaces with mechanical, software, test and facilities teams.
• Design/review FPGAs, microcontrollers and embedded electronics for control and test systems.
• Plan and oversee CCA, chassis, rack and harness implementations; manage build and delivery.
• Lead, mentor and hire electrical engineers and technicians; set design standards and reviews.
