Job summary

BlueWave is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design from concept through construction for solar and battery storage projects. You will manage RFI and submittals to ensure milestones are met safely and on time.

The role requires FE, 7+ years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of codes. Experience with grid-scale solar and SCADA/DAS is desired, with hybrid Boston work arrangements and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 7+ years of relevant experience (advanced degree preferred).
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) required, Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with electrical generation projects at a traditional engineering or architectural firm or EPC contractor.
• Electrical engineering and design experience on grid-scale, commercial, or utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the construction and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Understanding of DAS/SCADA software and review of datapoints in various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and calculations to ensure high-quality design and BlueWave standards.
• Create design standards for work with EPC contracted engineers and internal resources.
• Coordinate with development and grid integration teams for interconnection applications.
• Create and run training exercises on electrical engineering best practices.
• Specify equipment for procurement (transformers, switchgear).
• Review and update QA/QC procedures for project commissioning and start-up.
• Review and approve energy generation estimates for electrical components.
• Oversee internal junior engineers and designers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
