Job summary

EDF power solutions North America is seeking an experienced Senior Solar Design Engineer with a strong background in PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems. The role emphasizes ownership of engineering deliverables, adherence to NEC, and independent decision-making in a fast-paced project environment.

Required are a B.S. in engineering, FE certification, NABCEP certification, and 10+ years of relevant design experience, including PV and MV/LV systems integration, with AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 10+ years designing mechanical or electrical systems for construction; PV design preferred.
• FE certificate; PE license preferred.
• NABCEP certification.
• Experience with NEC for PV, energy storage, and related systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD drafting and energy modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering deliverables for PV and BESS projects from 500 kW to 20 MW.
• Conduct site assessments, energy models, and conceptual designs.
• Coordinate with Project Managers for scheduling and permitting.
• Manage project documents and assess design risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Implement new tools, products, vendors, and best practices.
