Job summary

Signal Energy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design efforts for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will coordinate with EORs and in-house teams to develop complete, constructible civil designs and IFC plan sets that meet scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering preferred) from an accredited university.
• 8+ years’ experience in planning, design, and/or operations of photovoltaic systems.
• Professional Engineer license (one or more US states).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of civil design packages from early design through Issued-For-Construction (IFC).
• Serve as the civil technical lead on solar and BESS projects, providing direction and decision-making for grading, drainage, and foundations coordination.
• Review geotechnical reports and integrate findings into civil designs.
• Support both EOR-led and in-house civil design efforts to produce complete deliverables.
• Drive coordination with survey, geotechnical, environmental, structural, electrical, HV, BESS, and construction teams.
• Lead QA/QC reviews of civil drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Support permitting and AHJ approvals and responses to agency comments.
• Identify and mitigate cost, schedule, constructability risks; lead value engineering.
• Support RFIs, design clarifications, and field coordination during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards and workflows.
