Job summary

SSOE Group in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for large-scale semiconductor and advanced technology facilities. You will develop power distribution strategies, perform load analyses, and guide low and medium voltage systems from concept through construction administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program; licensure in state is required.
• Active Professional Engineering (PE) license; responsible charge of electrical design and stamping authority required.
• Experience in semiconductors, advanced high‑tech facilities, cleanrooms, or mission‑critical building design.
• Experience leading low and medium voltage electrical system design for complex industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with NEC, IBC, IFC, NFPA standards and electrical codes for industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design for large-scale semiconductor and advanced technology projects from conceptual planning through construction administration.
• Develop and review electrical load calculations, demand analyses, and distribution strategies for high‑reliability environments, including cleanrooms.
• Design low and medium voltage power distribution systems and associated switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and busways.
• Perform system studies, coordination, and arc-flash mitigation to ensure reliability and safety.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, and engineers across disciplines to integrate electrical systems into the overall facility design.
• Lead discussions with clients, contractors, and suppliers to resolve design requirements and support procurement and installation planning.
• Prepare, review, and seal engineering documents, calculations, drawings, and specifications with high technical quality.
• Participate in design reviews, QA/QC, and coordination milestones to minimize conflicts and maintain schedules.
• Support field activities: RFIs, site walks, punch lists, and as‑built turnover.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in project execution.
