Job summary

SSOE's Advanced Technology division in Santa Clara is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design, review, and stamping of electrical power distribution and lighting systems for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and high-tech facilities.

You will mentor staff, manage QA/QC, coordinate with clients and vendors, and perform arc flash analyses and coordination studies to ensure safety and reliability across complex industrial power systems.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical degree and licensure requirements.
• California PE license (or reciprocity within six months).
• Experience designing electrical systems for high-tech facilities.
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, review, and stamping of electrical power distribution and lighting for semiconductor, pharma, and high-tech facilities, ensuring NEC/NFPA compliance.
• Develop design deliverables in Revit and AutoCAD; coordinate with all disciplines for constructability and safety.
• Prepare Basis of Design documents, system narratives, manpower estimates, and technical specs per codes (IBC/IFC).
• Manage QA/QC workflows, including peer reviews, design validation, and site walkthroughs during construction and turnover.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors; respond to RFIs and oversee submittal reviews.
• Perform arc flash, load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies to enhance safety and reliability.
• Coordinate electrical drawings in Bluebeam/Navisworks; conduct clash detection and constructability assessments.
• Provide commissioning support and mentor junior staff; participate in risk assessments and safety practices.
• Contribute to scheduling and cost estimation by offering scope insights and vendor lead-time data.
