Job summary

Axon seeks a Sr. Electrical Engineer to own design of complex mixed-signal electronics for cUAS platforms at our Sterling, VA office.

You’ll lead architecture, schematic and PCB work, with FPGA-based digital designs, RF interfaces, and rugged power delivery in a collaborative, fast-paced enviroment. You will partner with product, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, scalable hardware in a safety-focused company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in electrical design and system integration for complex hardware—ideally in cUAS, Satcom, defense, robotics, or wireless systems.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium).
• Expertise in digital, power, and RF engineering, including software defined radios and mixed signal hardware development.
• Solid understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design complex mixed signal electrical systems focusing on modularity and ruggedized operation.
• Lead end-to-end development of scalable hardware platforms with high-speed digital, analog interfaces, and power delivery.
• Lead schematic design, component selection, and schematic development from concept to implementation.
• Oversee PCB layout ensuring signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC performance for high-speed systems.
• Conduct electrical analysis using simulations to validate SI, PI, EMI/EMC, and thermal behavior.
• Collaborate regularly with domestic and international stakeholders across engineering and product teams.
