Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a fully remote role based in the United States.

The position provides technical leadership on industrial electrical projects across steel, power, refining, midstream oil & gas, petrochemical, and manufacturing sectors, delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. You will lead design efforts from concept through commissioning, develop deliverables, perform analyses, mentor junior staff, and interact with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license required.
• 20+ years of electrical engineering experience in consulting environments.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, substations, protective relaying, MCCs, VFDs, and grounding.
• Experience with SKM/ETAP or equivalent power system modeling software.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Excellent written communication and client interaction skills.
• Ability to lead project teams independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for capital and maintenance projects from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and review deliverables: single-line diagrams, power distribution, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and equipment analyses.
• Develop data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, and equipment recommendations.
• Participate in client meetings, site walkdowns, startup activities and commissioning support.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts with other disciplines.
• Support proposals, scope definition, and engineering estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients.
