Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a licensed professional engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in the Baltimore area. You will lead electrical engineering design for new construction and renovations across education, healthcare, sports, corporate, and science/tech sectors.

As part of a dynamic project team you will prepare drawings and specifications, review shop drawings, and mentor junior staff while applying Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools to deliver quality, timely documents.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Current PE in the United States required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Independent thinker with analytical skills.
• Strong working knowledge and ability to acquire higher knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools).

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning sessions and may lead.
• Assume project engineering responsibilities and meet financial goals.
• Initiate designs and help develop design goals and systems; perform electrical design for buildings.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecom for healthcare, education, and commercial clients.
• Prepare construction drawings and specs; guide junior staff; specify electrical equipment.
• Conduct quality control checks of documents and layout systems.
• Participate in value engineering sessions with the team.
• Recommend improvements to standards and processes to improve quality and coordination.
• Review shop drawings and submittals; respond to RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
