Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team virtually across the United States, with preferred sites including Baltimore, MD, and surrounding areas. You will design electrical systems for building construction, lead portions of projects, and ensure code compliance.

Qualifications include a BE/BTech or higher, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency with Revit, AGI32, and SKM Power Tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• Minimum 6 years of related experience
• EIT/FE preferred
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Independent thinker with strong communication skills
• Experience with electrical design for building construction
• Proficient in engineering design software (Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools)

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in project teamwork planning sessions
• Assume project engineering responsibilities and monitor financial/work goals
• Develop electrical design concepts and systems per codes
• Design lighting, power, signaling, communications and telecom for healthcare, education, and commercial clients
• Prepare construction drawings/specifications and guide junior staff
• Perform quality control checks on documents and layouts
• Engage in value engineering with architectural/engineering teams
• Review shop drawings/submittals, respond to RFI's, and review change orders
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
• Perform other related tasks as needed
