Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. You will design lighting, power, signaling, and telecom systems for building construction, and prepare construction documents, with opportunities to lead project efforts. Requirements include a bachelor’s or master’s in engineering, 6+ years of related experience, and proficiency with Revit/AGI32/Visual/SKM Power Tools.

Remote work within the U.S. is possible with preferred locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required
• ABET-accredited program preferred
• Minimum 6 years of related experience
• EIT/FE preferred
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools)

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning sessions and may take a lead role.
• May assume project engineering responsibilities and adhere to financial and work goals.
• Initiate project designs and help develop design goals and systems; perform electrical engineering design for building construction.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications and/or telecom systems for healthcare, education and commercial clients per codes.
• Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications; guide junior staff; specify electrical equipment.
• Perform quality control checks of engineering documents and layouts.
• Participate in value engineering sessions with the A/E team.
• Recommend improvements with reference standards to improve quality and coordination; streamline production.
• Review and markup shop drawings and submittals; respond to RFIs and review change orders.
• Conduct job-site visits to verify conditions and observe progress; attend construction meetings; site walks.
• May perform other related tasks as needed.
