Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a remote role within the United States. You will work with a multidisciplinary team under a licensed engineer, delivering electrical design for buildings across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.

The ideal candidate has a 6+ year background in engineering, ABET-accredited degree, and experience with Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools. EIT/FE and LEED credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required; ABET-accredited preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
• EIT/FE preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Must be independent thinker with analytical and process development skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficiency with engineering design software (Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools) required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning sessions; may lead.
• Assume project engineering responsibilities and meet financial/work goals.
• Initiate designs and develop goals; design electrical systems for building construction.
• Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications and telecom systems for healthcare, education, and commercial projects.
• Prepare construction documents and guide junior staff; specify electrical equipment.
• Perform quality control of engineering documents and layouts.
• Engage in value engineering with the A/E team.
• Recommend improvements to standards and processes to improve quality and efficiency.
• Review and markup shop drawings; respond to RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe progress.
• May perform other related tasks as needed.
