Job summary

Cannon Design is seeking an electrical engineering professional for a remote US-based role with a preference for candidates near major cities, including Dallas, TX. You will contribute to design development, coordination, and construction documents for healthcare, education, and commercial projects.

You’ll lead design tasks under a licensed engineer, thrive on collaboration, and apply standards across lighting, power distribution, and communications systems.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• EIT/FE preferred
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Independent thinker with analytical mindset and process development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools)

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teamwork planning sessions; may lead.
• Take project engineering responsibilities and meet financial/work goals.
• Design electrical engineering systems for building construction.
• Prepare construction documents; guide junior team members.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe progress.
• Contribute to value engineering sessions with Architectural/Engineering team.
• Suggest improvements to standards and processes for quality and coordination.
