Job summary

RTX Environmental Effects Engineering at Collins Aerospace seeks a motivated Electrical Engineer to support nuclear survivability testing across product lifecycles. You will plan, execute, and document radiation characterization tests for electronics used in radio and display systems, with travel up to 25%.

You will independently manage multiple tasks, contribute to design reviews, and advise on risk mitigation within a cross-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
• Electrical testing experience including design, troubleshooting, test plans, analysis and reporting.
• Circuit design: schematic capture, PCB layout/guidance.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, test and troubleshoot electrical hardware.
• Evaluate radiation response of MOSFETs, DC/DC converters, FPGAs and DDR memory.
• Advise parts selection based on test data.
• Develop test plans and reports.
• Lead program personnel through test procedures to meet cost/schedule constraints.
• Execute radiation effects testing events up to 25% travel.
• Serve as technical reference on radiation effects for electrical devices.
