Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks an Electrical Engineer for the Nuclear Effects Survivability Team in Cedar Rapids, IA. Responsibilities include planning, executing, and supporting radiation characterization testing of electronics used in radio/display systems to ensure survivability in TID, NDD, Gamma Dose, and SEE environments.

Role requires independent multi-project management, 25% travel, and the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and design reviews.

Qualifications

  • Electrical testing design, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Circuit analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout guidance.
  • Requires ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance; STEM degree and 2+ years experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, test and troubleshoot electrical hardware.
  • Evaluate radiation response of MOSFETs, DC/DC converters, FPGAs, and DDR memory.
  • Advise parts selection based on test data.
  • Develop test plans and reports.
  • Lead program personnel through test procedures to meet cost and schedule constraints.
  • Execute radiation effects testing events with external facilities (25% travel).
  • Serve as technical reference on radiation effects on electrical devices.
