Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an Electrical Engineer to support the Nuclear Effects Survivability Team. The role covers requirement development, electrical design, hardware integration, and test verification across the product lifecycle.

Independent project management and 25% travel are required. Responsibilities include nuclear radiation characterization testing of electronics for radio/display systems, documentation, design reviews, and improving test capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Electrical testing experience including test design, troubleshooting, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with RF concepts or RF test equipment.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, meters).
  • Experience developing test automation with LabVIEW or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and support nuclear radiation characterization testing of electronics for radio and display systems.
  • Conduct radiation effects testing (Total Ionizing Dose, Neutron, Gamma, SEEs) for survivability.
  • Prepare clear, well‑supported technical documentation.
  • Contribute to design reviews and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead program personnel through test procedures to meet cost and schedule constraints.
  • Execute radiation tests at external facilities (up to 25% travel).
  • Serve as technical reference on radiation effects on electrical devices.
  • Drive improvements to Collins’s radiation test capabilities.
